Many thanks to Alisa for hosting our discussion on Becky. It was a smaller turn-out tonight, but I guess a lot of people had husband's who were working or had other events going on, and Keri had her baby a couple weeks ago!!
I think we all really liked it. I thought I was going to be the only one that hadn't read the Tom Sawyer book, but really most of us hadn't read it! We had a really fun time tonight and also got to know eachother a little better.
Jessica helped us pick the next book, which is 1776 by David McCullough, it's about George Washington and the Revolutionary War.. We chose between this, Seabisquit and A Tree Grows In Brooklyn. We decided on this one because it's not fiction, and Jessica said that she has read two other books written by David McCullough and they were both really good, and we thought we would learn a lot.
We won't be meeting in December, so the next book club meeting will be hosted by Jessica on January 14th. This means you have two months to read this book!! Jessica will be sending out a reminder email as the time gets closer.
